Elon Musk-owned Twitter has introduced Twitter Blue, under which users will have to pay for a monthly fee to retain their blue verification badge on the platform. This isn’t sitting well with several celebrities, including Jack Black.
According to Variety, on Saturday, Black attended the Los Angeles premiere of his upcoming animated film ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie.’ Here, he was asked whether he will pay for his verification badge on not.
“I don’t know if I’m going to pay for it,” he said. “I’m a little embarrassed by the blue check to be honest with you. Maybe it’s cooler not to have checks. It’s definitely not cool to pay for it.”
He further added: “I’m gonna see what happens if I don’t pay for it. I’m gonna call his bluff, see if he really takes my check away.” The actor then joked that he will then hold a press conference and tell everyone about the “weird injustice.”
