Jane’s Addiction is no stranger to high-energy performances and drama, but their recent Boston show took things to a whole new level. The alternative rock band, formed in the late 1980s and known for hits like ‘Been Caught Stealing‘ and ‘Jane Says’.

They have built a reputation for pushing boundaries in both their music and their performances. Led by frontman Perry Farrell, the band has had its ups and downs, but they’ve always come back stronger – until now. However, their recent blow-up has gotten them on their feet.

Friday night in Boston turned wild when Perry Farrell, clearly frustrated, swung at guitarist Dave Navarro during the band’s performance of ‘Ocean Size‘. Fans were mid-rock-out when the lead singer’s temper flared, forcing crew members to intervene and restrain him.

It all went down during the 11th song of the set, which usually stretches to 14 or 15 songs – but not that night. Perry was still visibly angry as he was hustled offstage, leaving the audience wondering what just happened.

In an Instagram story posted by the band, Jane’s Addiction offered a “heartfelt apology” for the incident. They announced that they would be canceling their next show in Bridgeport, Connecticut. As the video spread across social media, it became clear this wasn’t just a minor spat.

We want to extend a heartfelt apology for the events that unfolded last night,” the band wrote in its Instagram story. “As a result we will be cancelling tomorrow night’s show in Bridgeport,” followed by refund details.

After the incident, Perry Farrell’s wife, Etty Lou Farrell, took to her Instagram account to give fans the scoop on what really went down. According to her, Perry was furious because the band’s sound levels were drowning out his vocals, leading him to lash out at Navarro.

Navarro seemed completely unprepared for the outburst. In the video, Navarro looks both confused and calm as he keeps his distance, asking, “What the fuck?” while Perry’s anger boiled over.

Etty Lou also added more fuel to the fire by accusing bassist Eric Avery of taking “cheap shots” at Perry during the scuffle. She claimed Avery put Perry in a headlock and punched him three times, though that detail wasn’t clear in the fan footage shared online. According to Etty Lou, Perry was in “crazed beast mode” for half an hour after the incident, breaking down in tears once the adrenaline wore off.

Jane’s Addiction tour with Love and Rockets is scheduled to conclude in Los Angeles on October 16th.
