The actress answered a fan’s inquiry by saying, “I do know there’s an online thing about it.” Later, Chastain said that Netflix may “send her a script” for the movie.

The decision to adapt the novel for the big screen has been hotly debated by fans. Many think that it would work better as a limited series because Reid divided the novel into seven parts, each of which can focus on one of Evelyn Hugo’s seven husbands. Liz Tigelaar, the creator of Emmy-nominated Hulu miniseries ‘Little Fires Everywhere‘, will adapt the book for Netflix. Reid will collaborate on the project with Tigelaar as well.
