Emmy-winning comedy man Jimmy Kimmel serves bits of comedy and welcomes famous guests to his show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’. It holds the title for the longest-running late-night show for the network. But the future of the show is uncertain.

Moreover, Jimmy has also hosted the Oscars over four times and he was asked about the possibility for the fifth time as well. While he hasn’t shown any interest in hosting the Academy Awards for the fifth time, there might still be some hope as the host for 2025 has not been confirmed yet.

Kimmel refused to repeat the gig at the next Academy Awards due to their commitment to preparing for Hollywood’s biggest night. Neither Jimmy nor comedian John Mulaney has agreed to host the show in 2025.

Though Jimmy never said that hosting is off the table for him, he previously said that if he returned for the next year’s celebration, it would have been back to back three years for him which would become overwhelming both professionally and personally for him.

Jimmy Kimmel has been hosting his show for more than twenty years now. However, it seems that the show might not continue for long. It was announced that NBC’s, that ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ will no longer have original episodes airing 5 nights a week.

Kimmel thinks that there are more options for people to watch as they have all the streaming services. But he still remains focused on hisLate Night Show‘ in the rapidly changing industry.

“As a group, we have a text chain of all the late-night hosts and we sent all of our congratulations to Jimmy Fallon for getting Friday off,” Kimmel shared backstage. “There is no future for late-night,” he added as the room erupted with laughter.
