John Krasinski Thought He’s “Being Punked” Upon Learning About His Win
John Krasinski may seem like the sexiest man alive to many people, but for him, it was kind of unbelievable that he had received the honor. As per PEOPLE, he wasn’t exactly sure what to think when he first came to know that he is PEOPLE’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive.
“Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts,” he told the magazine during the interview. “Other than maybe I’m being punked. That’s not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be the Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me,” he said.

The actor currently resides in Brooklyn with his wife, actress Emily Blunt. The power couple shares two daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 8. The news of Krasinski’s achievement came as a delight to his wife. As Krasinski told PEOPLE, his wife was “very excited” when she heard the big news. “There was a lot of joy involved in me telling her,” he said.
He also recalled her joking that she would wallpaper their house with the magazine cover declaring her husband to be the sexiest man alive. “Do we have that on camera? Because that’s like a binding contract, I think,” he said, before jokingly adding, “My children will love that, it won’t be weird at all.”
