The defamation trial in Virginia between stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has turned into a passionate struggle over the facts about their relationship, with both sides accusing the other of domestic abuse on multiple occasions in what was an undeniably difficult marriage.
Amber Heard Accused Johnny Deep Of Being A “Terrible Father”
Amber Heard, in his testimony, alleged that Johnny Depp was a “terrible father” whose children despise him. On the other hand, Depp claimed that his children couldn’t stand Amber.
On Wednesday, the 58-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star began his legal battle with his ex-wife in a Virginia courtroom.
He accused the actress of faking abuse charges, which led to his exclusion from the entertainment industry. He’s asking for $50 million in damages, while she’s suing him for $100 million, saying he’s defamed her.
Johnny was questioned on the stand regarding his wedding to Amber in 2015.
The actor told the jury that his daughter Lily-Rose Depp, who has built a career for herself as an actress and model, was unable to attend the wedding because she and Amber were “not on particularly good terms.”
Johnny Depp Opens Up About How Amber Bullied Him
Johnny described how Amber would bully him and try to create fights. He claimed she referred to him as a “terrible father” and that his kids couldn’t stand him. Depp now claims that this was not the case and that they genuinely wanted her to leave.
Lily posted an Instagram snapshot in 2016, months after Amber filed for divorce and accused Johnny of domestic abuse. She revealed a personal snap writing from her childhood. She said, “My dad is the sweetest most loving person I know, he’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and me, and everyone who knows him would say the same.”
The Actor told the jury on the opening day of the hearing that one of the reasons he filed the lawsuit was to clear his name and that of his children. “Never did I reach the point of striking Ms. Heard. Never have I struck any woman in my life,” he said while making an appearance visibly nervous.
Later, Johnny revealed further details about the day he and Amber walked down the aisle. He claimed the actress and her friend Rocky Pennington had invited friends for “dinner, dancing, and drugs.”
He informed the court that Amber and her companions, as well as a handful of his acquaintances, had used MDMA. He admitted to consuming marijuana but said he didn’t do any heavier substances.
