Dior And Johnny Depp Deal Is Deemed As The Biggest Fragrance Deal Ever
In 2015, Parfums Christian Dior signed Johnny Depp for their Dior Sauvage campaign. During the press release for the campaign, LVMH called him “an icon of contemporary virility.” They advertised the new fragrance with Depp as the wild rockstar. But the brand was pressured to sever ties with the actor during the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard UK libel trial.
Nevertheless, the trial did not affect the sales of the perfume at all. As per WSJ Magazine, in June 2022, the cologne was the best-selling men’s fragrance at Sephora and Ulta. It was the fourth-best-selling eau de parfum on Amazon’s website. Now, the ties between Johnny Depp and Dior have strengthened further, with the company signing the actor for a $20 million+ deal.
Currently, actors like Robert Pattinson and Brad Pitt are the biggest faces of the fragrances at the brand. As per insiders, the famous faces earn $2 million to $4 million with fragrance deals.
