While some wins were quite expected, some others came as a huge surprise for fans as well as the celebrities running in the race. ‘Succession’ actor Kieran Culkin was one of the winners at the awards function, and his acceptance speech was not ordinary.

The star-studded event was graced by the majority of industry big-names. With the entire Hollywood seated in the audience, Kieran Culkin took to the stage to claim his trophy for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama. But he could not resist channeling his ‘Succession’ character, Roman Roy, notorious for his foul-mouthed approach.
The 41-year-old actor took the chance to tease Pedro Pascal, who was nominated for the same category for his role in the HBO series ‘The Last of Us‘. In his signature Roman Roy style, he said, “Nightmare, ugh! Sit down. Sorry, burping. Indigestion. Otherwise, this is a nice moment for me. I’ve blown it already.”
Culkin then went on to recall his earlier Golden Globe nomination about 20 years ago for the film ‘Igby Goes Down’. “I was nominated for a Golden Globe, like, 20 years ago. When that moment passed, I remember thinking, ‘I’m never going to be back in this room again,”‘ he said.
“It’s fine, whatever. But, thanks to Succession, I’ve been in here a couple times, it’s been nice, but I sort of accepted I was never be on the stage. So, this is a nice moment. Suck it, Pedro. I’m sorry,” he said holding the award up to Pascal. “Mine!”
In a healthy rivalry spirit, Pascal graciously took the banter with a smile.
