Partridge discussed the terrible experience while auditioning for a project which is currently under wraps. “I did something recently that I shall not name, and I had to sing, and so I spent quite a lot of money, a small fortune, on singing lessons,” he says.
“And when I got into the room, I very much took the Hugh Jackman approach of just belting out. He’s a good singer, I’m not, but I went for it,” he added. Guess what? The decision turned out to be a mistake. Wanting to hide his lack of experience and singing talent, the actor went all out by increasing his volume.
“At the end, I had to double over, and I’d gone all dizzy because I was shouting so loud,” Patridge admitted. “I thought loudness might equate to skill. And I had to excuse myself from the room after my song.” The most frustrating part?
Partridge was knee-deep into the audition process when the vocal fiasco took place, undoing what he achieved in the early rounds. “I was meeting the director and the producer,” he added.

Partridge describes what happened to Brown. “I went all hot, stumbling around like this. And then I had to hold a water bottle up to my face to cool down,” the actor explained. The revelation left Brown both floored and amused.
“Oh, my God. I have the ick,” she exclaimed. “I actually have secondhand ick.” Brown’s blunt reaction made Partridge burst into laughter. “I think they did too!” he replied. But Millie being a darling colleague, soon rallied behind to show her support.
“Oh my gosh, Lou. I’m really sorry about that, but I’m sure you sounded great,” she said. While Partridge didn’t land the part, you can catch him as Viscount Tewkesbury again in ‘Enola Holmes 3’ which premiered globally on July 1.
