Marvel’s latest release seemed to have fallen under the box office curse, as Madame Webb only managed to collect around $77 million after two weekends in theaters. With actors like Dakota Johanson and Sydney Sweeney, the fan’s and critics’ expectations fell short. An experience like this might make an actor think twice before reprising their role in the MCU.
However, when ‘Madame Webb’ hit the ground, Sydney Sweeney’s ‘Anyone But You’ broke the records of ‘The Marvels’, receiving praise across the globe. However, after a major failure at the box office, Sydney Sweeney will return to Spider-Verse only under one condition.

Sydney Sweeney Will Be A Part Of Spider-Verse Only Zendaya Is A Part Of It
The ‘Dune’ star made her MCU debut as Tom Holland’s Spider Man’s love interest. Zendaya was a part of the Spider-Man threequel nailing her role as MJ. The Madame Webb star wishes for a ‘Euphoria’ reunion in the superhero world.
During a conversation with ComicBook.com, Sydney Sweeney was asked if she would reprise her role as Julia Cornwall in a later Spider-Man movie. Sydney Sweeney immediately replied that she would love to return to the Spider-Verse only if Zendaya was a part of it.
Sweeney said, “Oh my God yeah, that’d be so cool.” Regarding the failure of the Sony film, Sydney Sweeney gave a diplomatic reply to The Los Angeles Times. She said, “I was just hired as an actress in it, so I was just along for the ride for whatever was going to happen. And, yeah, that’s a great way to handle all that.”

Will Zendaya Return To The Spider-Verse?
Zendaya last appeared as MJ in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, which ended with everyone including MJ and Ned forgetting the existence of Peter Parker. With the rumors of ‘Spider-Man 4’ hovering, fans have speculated multiple theories about the plot of the film. While talking to Deadline, Sony executive Tom Rothman revealed that he wants to reunite Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Tom Holland in the sequel.
Indicating he wants to reunite the trio, Tom Rothman said, “That whole group, we hope. Then there are movies I would call adjunct to the Spider-Man universe. That’s Kraven, which we’re shooting now, and Madame Web, which we’ll start in the spring with S.J. Clarkson directing.
He continued, “And then there are many Marvel characters that are standalone. When I took over Sony, it was said, Oh, Sony has no IP. Not true. We actually had fantastic IP. We just needed to focus on it.”
As much as Sydney Sweeney is excited about Zendaya’s return to Spider-Verse, fans are not excited about her potential return.
