‘Stranger Things‘ is the flagship series of Netflix. The sci-fi horror series has, over the years, become one of the most watched shows on streaming. Filled with interesting and compelling characters, the show has garnered a strong following, especially among younger viewers.
But the viewers felt that the show was overcrowded with a lot of new characters in its fourth season. This was echoed by the show’s lead actress Millie Bobby Brown. Now, Maya Hawke, who plays Robin, has also said the same thing. Let’s find out what exactly she said.
Maya Hawke Believes That ‘Stranger Things’ Has “Too Many Characters”

Maya Hawke joined the popular Netflix show ‘Stranger Things‘ during its third season. She has since become a pivotal character in the story. But the show is still overcrowded with a lot of characters.
She recently appeared for Vanity Fair to take a lie detector test with Camila Mendes. Hawke was asked if fan favorite Eddie Munson (played by Joseph Quinn) deserved to die at the end of season four.
โI donโt think he shouldโve died, but I do think the show has too many characters,โ she responded. Millie Bobby Brown had earlier told the press that there are so many actors on the show that they could barely take a photo together on the red carpet.
โThere were like 50 of us,โ she said. โI was like, โYou need to start killing people off.โ The Duffer brothers are two sensitive Sallies that donโt want to kill anyone off. We need to be โGame of Thrones.’โ
The Final Season Will Only Focus On Key Characters

The show’s creators, the Duffer brothers, are aware of the fact that it’s overcrowded with several characters. Ross Duffer had talked about not introducing new characters in the upcoming final season.
โWeโre doing our best to resist [adding new characters] for Season 5,โ he said. โWeโre trying not to do that so we can focus on the OG characters, I guess.โ
Matt Duffer also talked about the issue. โWhenever we introduce a new character, we want to make sure that theyโre going to be an integral part of the narrative. So thatโs something with Eddie this season, where we go, โWell, we need a character here for this storyline to really work, and to give it the engine that is needed.โโ
He continued, โBut every time we do that, weโre nervous, because you go, โWeโve got a great cast of characters here, and actors, and any moment weโre spending with a new character, weโre taking time away from one of the other actors.โ So weโre just very, very careful about who weโre introducing.โ
