The Hollywood Reporter, recently put a bunch of stars together in a room for their Drama Actor Emmy Roundtable. The list included Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Brian Cox, and three other popular actors. The stars talked about a variety of topics including the topic of fatherhood and taking a break from acting to be with their famalies. Somehow the topic got diverted to Michael Keaton recalling how Jack Nicholson gave some fatherly advice to him during ‘Batman’.

Apparently, both Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton were not sure about the success of movie ‘Batman’. They thought it was a risky take, but Nicholson came forward to encourage Keaton and assured him that this movie is gonna be a breakthrough for his career.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, we’re in the car and he’s talking about the movie. And we all knew it was a huge risk, and if it goes down, [I’d be] going down in flames and that’s going to be a big, hard recovery. But I also knew if it worked, it could change my landscape,” Keaton recalled.

He continued, “So Jack says, ‘Keats, if this thing’s a hit, you can go out and do four or five flops and not even worry about it.’ And maybe it wasn’t four or five, but it used to be you got away with three and it didn’t matter. Not now, man. You’ve got one miss, which is fucked up.”

It is confirmed that Michael Keaton will be back on the big screen again with his Bat-suit in the upcoming movie ‘Flash’. Keaton said that it was ultimately the script, which was penned by Birds of Prey and Batgirl scribe Christina Hodson, that truly convinced him.

“It has to be good,” Keaton said of the script. “There’s no reason to do it if it’s not good. It’s not gonna really change anything. And I just jumped in and had fun. And why would you not? You know, I mean, director Andy Muschietti is fantastic, and it’s really creative. I don’t know. It’s fun.”

It was a job,” Keaton said of his first stint as Batman. “And then the next one was a job, and I enjoyed it. But then over time — and then the third one, I just couldn’t do. I just thought, ‘Well, this is not good. This is not good. I just can’t do it. I’ll blow my brains out. Just can’t live with myself.’ And so I walked away.
