When DC revealed Henry Cavill as the Superman in 2013 released Man Of Steel, it seemed like they nabbed the perfect candidate for the role. And the audience received Cavill as their favorite version of the superhero. The viewers may still see him as the same, however, looks like DC has moved past Cavill’s Superman. According to the latest buzz, the new Flash teaser features a young Superman, not played by Henry.
The Flash Trailer Features “A Young Superman”
The latest Cinema-Con served its purpose perfectly as several revelations made their way up into the light. One such revelation includes an update about the next DC Superman. DC released the trailer of their upcoming film, The Flash. Apparently, the trailer shows “a young Superman”, however, Cavill’s name was nowhere to be found tagged along with Superman.
About The Flash, the trailer shows Batman in the limelight as Michael Keaton returns as the hero after 30 years. The much-delayed film will hopefully release on July 23, 2023. It is yet not revealed if DC and Warner Bros will bring Cavill back even once to play Superman. And with the latest release, the possibility now appears to be a far-fetched one.
Henry Cavill And DC’s Superman
Cavill last donned the cape for Zack Snyder’s Cut of Justice League. And at the time, he revealed that his contract asks him to put on the red cape at least once more. However, it’s been years and he’s still to reprise the superhero. Previously, anticipation was high for Cavill’s return as Superman in The Flash. However, now with the trailer release, seems like the anticipation stands quashed.
Right now, even without any Superman project, Henry still has much on his plate. The Witcher is already racing towards its third season with Cavill in the lead as Geralt. Moreover, he’s ready to return as Sherlock Holmes for the next installment of Millie Bobby Brown starrer Netflix creation, Enola Holmes. Not ending here, he is also added to Matthew Vaughn’s spy thriller Argyle.
