Millie Bobby Brown has entered a new phase of her acting career, and her baby daughter is now at the heart of it. The 22-year-old actress, who welcomed her first child through adoption with husband Jake Bongiovi, has revealed that motherhood has changed the way she thinks about the roles she takes on.

Brown now says “everything” is about her daughter when she considers what she wants to bring to the screen. But the ‘Enola Holmes‘ star is not simply hoping her little girl will grow up watching her movies or following in her footsteps. Instead, she has a much bigger goal in mind.

While speaking to Access Hollywood about ‘Enola Holmes 3‘, Brown said, “I definitely feel now, becoming a mom, everything is about her and bringing that to life,” Brown told Access Hollywood. “I’m doing it for her, but I’m not going to expect that she’s going to want to see mom and want to be like mom.”

Instead, Brown wants to use her acting career to help bring more female characters to audiences. She hopes those roles can encourage other filmmakers and young actresses to create more women on screen and give her daughter more people to look up to as she grows older.

On the screen, however, I want to bring more females to the screen, so if that inspires more filmmakers or young actresses to get to the screen and be that for my daughter, that would be amazing.”

Brown currently stars as the title character in Netflix’s Enola Holmes franchise, alongside Louis Partridge as her love interest, Lord Tewkesbury. Enola is an amateur detective and the younger sister of Henry Cavill’s Sherlock Holmes. Brown acknowledged that children may look up to the character, making the role especially relevant to her wish to bring more inspiring female figures to the screen.

In ‘Enola Holmes 3‘, Enola appears to be moving toward a happy ending by marrying Lord Tewkesbury. However, those plans face trouble when news arrives that Sherlock has been kidnapped. The new case takes Enola to Malta, where her personal hopes and detective work collide.

Brown’s desire to give young viewers inspiring figures also connects with her own childhood. During the same interview, she revealed that Hannah Montana was a “hero” to her while she was growing up. The Disney series focused on a teenage girl who lived a double life as a pop star.

I thought it was crazy. She lived the best of both worlds. That’s a hero! And in so many ways now, I feel my whole life is about being Hannah Montana in a way.

Brown’s career has already taken her from ‘Stranger Things‘ to the ‘Enola Holmes‘ films, but motherhood has clearly added a new purpose to the work she chooses. As her daughter grows up, the actress hopes to help create a screen filled with more women worth looking up to.
