Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that one of the most romantic moments in ‘Enola Holmes 3‘ came directly from her private life with husband Jake Bongiovi.
The actress said Bongiovi has a sweet nighttime habit that she finds deeply loving, and she became so attached to the gesture that she personally wrote a version of it into the film.

Brown revealed that Bongiovi braids her hair at night. She finds the simple act so loving that she decided to bring the same gesture into ‘Enola Holmes 3‘ through her character’s romance with Lord Tewkesbury. In the scene, Tewkesbury braids Enola’s hair before the pair take a dip in the sea together.

During an interview with The Independent, Brown made it clear that she personally came up with the moment. “That was my idea. I wrote that into the script.” The actress explained that the team had been trying to decide how to make the scene feel truly romantic.
“We had this big scene, and we were like, ‘Is it going to be a kiss that’s going to make the audience swoon? What is it?’” she continued. “And my husband, at night, he braids my hair, and I think it is the most adorable, loving [thing]. I’m obsessed with the fact that he does that for me.”
Brown Chose The Quiet Gesture Over A Big Romantic Kiss in ‘Enola Holmes 3’
For Brown, the personal act of care felt more meaningful than a conventional kiss. She wanted Tewkesbury to show his love for Enola through the same small but deeply personal gesture that Bongiovi shares with her at home. “And so I thought, that’s what I want. That’s what I think I want Tewkes to do,” Brown further explained. “It’s such an intimate thing.”

Brown and Bongiovi married in May 2024. The couple later revealed in August 2025 that they had adopted a baby girl. Their relationship gave Brown the real-life inspiration for the scene, but Partridge had no idea about its personal meaning when they filmed it.
Partridge was surprised when Brown explained where the idea had come from during their interview. Reacting to the story behind the moment, he said, “Gorgeous, I didn’t know that. It’s amazing.”
The actor also revealed that he had almost no time to master the skill before cameras rolled. Brown had just two minutes to teach him how to braid before they filmed the scene.
