    Morgan Freeman Thinks ‘African-American’ Term Is An Insult, Doesn’t Like Black History Month

    Morgan Freeman has been in the spotlight for a long time for his iconic roles in different films and TV shows. But in his interview with The Sunday Times for promotion of his appearance in ‘A Good Person‘, he addressed Black History Month and the term African-American.

    While Freeman’s words have been grabbing the attention of the internet, he has been praised for his performance as Daniel in ‘A Good Person.’ Released on March 24, 2023, the film has received mixed reviews from critics and collected around $2.4 million at the box office.

    What Did Morgan Freeman Say About Black History?

    Morgan Freeman said he does not like the word African-American

    During his interview with The Sunday Times, Morgan Freeman started by saying that he has a dislike towards two things which include the word African-American and Black History Month. Describing the term African-American as an insult, Freeman said that he cannot get used to the word.

    He added that black people have been called different names over the years starting with the n-word. He stated that he is not aware of how others have managed to adjust themselves and continued: “What does it really mean? Most Black people in this part of the world are mongrels. And you say Africa as if it’s a country when it’s a continent, like Europe.”

    The news outlet mentioned Denzel Washington’s words where he said that he is “proud to be black” but that is not everything. Morgan Freeman replied by saying that his thoughts are similar to Washington’s.

    Upcoming Projects Of Morgan Freeman

    Morgan Freeman is scheduled to appear in a few projects

    Audiences have been waiting to witness Morgan Freeman in a brand new form. The good news is that he has two films and a TV show in his hand.

    He will play the role of Edwin Mullins in the spy thriller series, ‘Lioness.’ The show’s release date has not been announced until now but it features Zoe Saldana, Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, and others playing important roles.

    Freeman will appear as Anton Burrell in the science fiction thriller film, ’57 Seconds’, which is currently in the filming stage. The next on his list is the action film ‘Gunner’, where he will be seen as Kendrick Ryker. The films are directed by Rusty Cundieff and Dimitri Logothetis.
