Nick Cannon Says Mariah Carey Is “Not Human”
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon tied the knot in 2008 but parted ways in 2016. Despite the divorce, they have maintained friendly relationships with each other over the years.
In an interview with The Shade Room, Cannon called her “the greatest“. “Then it goes viral, and our fans get mad at me“, he said. “But I was 12 years old with Mariah Carey pictures on my wall, and that becomes my wife. And the fact that she’s the coolest person I ever met.”
He further praised his ex-wife, “when I found out about how remarkable she was… that woman is not human. She’s a gift from God.” In 2011, Carey gave birth to their twin children: Moroccan and Monroe. They separated in 2014 and got their divorce finalized in 2016.

Why Did They Part Ways?
In 2020, Carey released her autobiography titled ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey.’ In it, she wrote in detail about her personal life and separation from Cannon. Carey wrote that balancing a career in showbiz and family took a toll on their relationship.
She stated that their marriage got worse after she gave birth to their twins. But, she felt the two could have worked it out. “Honestly, I think Nick and I could have worked it out between the two of us, but egos and emotions got inflamed,” she wrote.
Cannon, in an interview, said that he tried getting back with her but things did not work out. “That’s my fantasy love. I will never have a love like I had with Mariah,” the comedian said.
