Previously rumors had circulated for potential castings for the lead roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley and now Warner Bros seems to have found their Severus Snape.

Playing the title part in ‘Hamlet and King Lear‘ plays, Paapa Essiedu began his career at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Since then, he has starred in the TV series ‘Gangs of London’, and ‘The Lazarus Project‘ as well as the movies ‘Murder on the Orient Express‘ and ‘Men‘.
The actor has also previously starred in the comedy-drama series ‘I May Destroy You’ and might next star in the Harry Potter series as Severus Snape. As the outlet exclusively reported based on multiple sources, the actor has received an offer for the role but hasn’t yet been confirmed if he’ll take it. So far no castings have been confirmed for the series that is set to release in 2026.
