James Gunn took over the DCEU with the plans of rebuilding the franchise from scratch with only a few projects being carried forward to the reimagined franchise. One of these projects is ‘Peacemaker‘ marking John Cena’s Christopher Smith solo spin-off.
With Peacemaker being the first DCEU TV show, James Gunn has confirmed the return of John Cena. Season one picked up after ‘The Suicide Squad’ when Christopher Smith was released from hospital and recruited to a new Task Force X team. However, the season ended with plenty of surprises leading the fans to believe the Peacemaker will return.

Known for her role as Emilia Harcourt in the DC Universe, Jennifer Holland revealed an exciting update about the potential season two of ‘Peacemaker’. After a fan asked Holland on Instagram if a second season of the series was happening, the actress dropped affirmative news saying, “Yessss we start filming this summer! It’s gonna be so gooooood.”

‘Peacemaker’ Season Two Is Set After The Events Of ‘Superman: Legacy’
With the initiation of the new DCEU, titled Gods and Monsters, the first film lined up ‘Superman: Legacy’ starring David Corenswet in the titular role along with Rachel Bauhnman as Lois Lane. As the entire franchise is undergoing a huge change from cast to the storyline, many DC fanatics are wondering if ‘Peacemaker’ will be a part of DCEU or DCU.
Recently confirmed by James Gunn that ‘Peacemaker’ season 2 is part of the DCU, making it clear that the show will be set in the same overarching universe. The new DC boss also confirmed that Peacemaker season two will be released after ‘Superman: Legacy’, which will be released on July 11, 2025.
