Rosamund Pike has stepped into the next James Bond debate, and her pick comes from a very familiar corner of her recent career. The actress, who once played Miranda Frost in ‘Die Another Day‘, has shown her support for her ‘Saltburn‘ co-star, Jacob Elordi, as a possible new 007.
Pike knows the Bond world firsthand, having seen the fame, pressure, and attention that come with the franchise, and she has also worked with Elordi in one of the most talked-about films of recent years.
Rosamund Pike Has A Clear Reason For Backing Jacob Elordi

Bond casting often draws attention to style and appearance, but Pike praised Elordi’s acting first in the GQ interview, which makes her support go beyond his looks. She pointed to the skill needed to carry such a famous role. “He’s a fantastic actor. He certainly looks like a great Bond. I mean, why not?” Pike said.
According to Pike, Elordi has both the talent and the screen presence for 007. Pike has already worked with Elordi in ‘Saltburn‘, the 2023 film, so her praise is not based only on public buzz or fan speculations.
Elordi’s name has already been gaining attention in Bond discussions. Fresh industry chatter claims that the ‘Wuthering Heights‘ star has reportedly moved into “pole position” to become the next 007. If the casting happens, Elordi could become the youngest James Bond actor of the modern era. At 28, he could also give Amazon MGM a long-term face for the franchise.
Marina Hyde discussed this on The Rest is Entertainment podcast and explained why producers may see him as a strong option. “He’s 28. So, he could easily do a good 10 years, which is what they really want, right? They want somebody who’s going to own this for a generation.”
Amazon MGM may want an actor who can lead several Bond films without needing another quick reboot. Elordi’s growing popularity with younger viewers could also help bring 007 to a new audience.
Bond’s Fresh Start Could Work In Elordi’s Favour

The Bond franchise is also entering a major new phase. Amazon MGM Studios is preparing a big relaunch after longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson stepped away and handed over creative control. ‘Peaky Blinders‘ creator Steven Knight is also developing the screenplay.

The change could give the studio a chance to redefine Bond for younger moviegoers. Hyde suggested that Elordi may benefit from this because he still feels fresh in blockbuster terms compared with some other rumored names.
Hyde also said audiences may accept an Australian actor as Bond. “I think you can get away with it being Australian. I don’t think you can have an American one, no matter how great the accent.” Reports have also claimed that Elordi has already met with Bond producers, Amazon MGM executives, and Denis Villeneuve. Entertainment journalist Roger Friedman previously reported that Villeneuve is expected to have a major influence over the casting process.
Still, nothing has been officially confirmed. Hyde also made that clear during the podcast discussion. “It definitely hasn’t been a done deal yet,” she said. Even so, Pike’s support has added more heat to Elordi’s Bond buzz, and his name now feels more connected to 007 than ever.
