    Sandra Oh Recalls Working With Paul Reubens In His Last Film Before Death, Says It was “Magic”

    Killing Eve‘ fame Sandra Oh recalled the “magic” she lived while working with the late Paul Reubens on what turned out to be his last film before his recent death. Comedian Reubens died of cancer after battling the disease for about 6 years.

    Sandra worked with him in the US comedy movie ‘Quiz Lady‘, where Reubens made a cameo appearance. He did a role where he masqueraded actor Alan Cumming in a funny scene in the film. Actresses Oh and Awkwafina were playing as sisters to win big and get rich on a game show.

    Sandra Oh Says Paul Reubens Brought Great Spirit To Set

    Sharing her favorite memory from the set, Oh recalled the first day of shooting with Paul Reubens. She said she is immensely grateful for the time spent with Reubens. She said Reubens brought incredible spirit and positive energy to the set.

    Oh boy, he came on the set and he was like, I don’t know… He just really, really brought it in and had such great spirit around it,” she said while speaking to People.

    Her co-star Awkwafina also remembered the first day and remarked that Reubens’ role was an important and fixed element in the script from the very start. Though some parts of the script were open to changes, Reubens’ appearance was a final, she said.

    Several Celebrities Mourned Reubens’ Death

    The ‘Killing Eve‘ star had also taken to social media to share a behind-the-scenes selfie with Reubens during his initial days on set. In the caption of her post, she remarked how lucky she considers herself to have worked with him.

    (Love) to our beloved friend Paul (Reubens),” she captioned the selfie. “We were so so so lucky to have him, to know him, and to share in the joy he brought to all,” she added.

    Paul Reubens’ death came as a shock for Hollywood, though he had been privately struggling with Cancer for about six years. Several stars mourned the comedy star’s death. Director Tim Burton hailed him as a “comedy genius” in his condolences for Reubens’ death.
