The singers reportedly first met in 2014 when both Fifth Harmony and Mendes opened for Austin Mahone on his Austin Mahone: Live on Tour. The duo quickly became friends and released a song together named ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ in November 2014. The duo was plagued with dating rumors throughout 2015 and 2016 but they consistently denied any relationship.
