Snoop Dogg Lauds His “Nephews” Drake And Kendrick Lamar For “Raising The Bar” Of Song-Writing  With Their Rap Feud

The longstanding feud between the rap moguls Drake and Kendrick Lamar has blown out of proportion and has gained traction. Many celebrities including Tom Hanks have shown intrigue in the ongoing feud. Stepping in now is Snoop Dogg, who is apparently thanking the two rap stars.

Snoop Dogg recently shared his thoughts on the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar while speaking to Entertainment Tonight. The 52-year-old rap legend offered a unique perspective, as he commended both artists for elevating the rap game through their confrontation. Here’s what he said.

In a rather unique take, Snoop Dogg applauded Drake and Kendrick Lamar for their contributions to the genre through their infamous feud. “Well, the only thing I want to say about that whole scenario is that I want to give both of them a shout-out for raising the bar as far as lyrics, as far as song-making and writing,” Snoop said during the interview.

Because the writing has been upped since the confrontation or whatever you call it, whatever they went through,” he said. To top it, Snoop referred to Drake and Kendrick as his “nephews,” further asserting his supportive stance for the rappers who are at loggerheads.

I’m not in the middle of it. I support both of them and that’s personal business, not my business,” he said in a neutral but appreciative stance.

Snoop Dogg himself is no stranger to rap beef himself. He went on to explain how he thinks the public feud has positively impacted the rap industry. “As far as what they did for the industry and the rap game, they made you rap again,” he said. “You can’t mumble your way and gimmick your way to a song no more, buddy. So, thank y’all.”

Interestingly, Snoop was indirectly involved in the same feud earlier this year. Amid Drake and Kendrick’s escalating tensions, Drake released ‘Taylor Made Freestylein April this year, which featured controversial AI-generated verses from Snoop Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur, along with a mention of Taylor Swift.

In the AI verse, Snoop’s digital likeness took a jab at Kendrick before Drake continued with his own diss. Reacting to this unexpected involvement, Snoop shared a funny video on Instagram. The video, captioned with a mix of emojis and symbols indicated his bewilderment.

The video showed Snoop slowly entering the frame and asking, “They did what? When? How? Are you sure?” He concluded the clip with a sigh, saying, “Y’all have a good night and to all … Why everybody calling my phone, blowing me up? What the f—? What happened? What’s going on? I’m going back to bed. Good night.”
