Joe Rogan is an American comedian and presenter most famously known for his podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience”. He is also a commentator for UFC. The podcast first aired on YouTube in 2009 with comedian, Brian Redban as its co-host and producer. In 2013 he was replaced by Jamie Vernon. By the year 2015, the podcast got millions of views and created a huge fan following. They even had a wide range of guests on the show from Elon Musk to Senator Bernie Sanders. Ever since December 2020, the podcast was exclusively available only on Spotify. But recently the commentator and Spotify had a slight dispute.
Spotify Representative Says “Spotify Is Aware Of This Technical Issue”
Recently Joe Rogan and Spotify had a little dispute between them. It all began when he asked Spotify to remove 113 episodes in the month of February. Some of those episodes featured commentators like Alex Jones and Milo Yiannopoulos. Then Spotify ended up removing 36 episodes of Joe Rogan’s podcast.
Spotify is trying to explain this whole mishap. They said the whole thing was a “technical issue”. “Spotify is aware of this technical issue, and we are looking into it now,” a company representative told the Los Angeles Times. The Independent even tried to talk to Joe Rogan regarding the matter to get some response. Rogan has already signed a deal with Spotify in 2020. Apparently, the deal was above $200 million. However, this whole mishap with the removal of 36 episodes happened before they signed the deal.
Joe Rogan Receives Criticism For Discussing A Fake News On Podcast
Joe Rogan received backlash after he discussed a piece of fake news in his podcast. The episode was released on 12th May. “I read something briefly and I didn’t get into the article.” He then claimed that Australia is “trying to pass a bill that would outlaw you growing your own food”, he said. He believed the story to be true and even went to the extent of calling the Australian Government officials “f***ing creeps”.
Later he found out that it was completely false. “Yep, I can’t find it either. Dammit! Better not be fake. It might be fake,” he said to his guest on the show. Following that Joe Rogan was criticized a great deal all over the internet.
