‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Drops Main Trailer With New Games. Here’s What To Expect

Netflix’s ‘Squid Game‘ released its main trailer for a much-awaited second season in an effort to heighten anticipation of new bone-chilling challenges awaiting the participants. This global phenomenon saw a new set of viewing records in its very first season.

The same is expected with the return of the next season on December 26, giving us a look at these new dangerous games and emerging tensions. Here’s what the recently released trailer suggests.

What To Expect From ‘Squid Game’ Season 2

This new season of ‘Squid Game‘, written, directed, and executive produced by Hwang Dong-hyuk, will see Seong Gi-hun return, played by Lee Jung-Jae, and dive back into the nefarious competition with plans to dismantle it from within.

The stakes are higher, with the diabolical games designed to test players’ wits and endurance in the trailer. One of them seems to be a dark, life-threatening twist on tic-tac-toe, while the other one unfolds on a carousel, ramping up the eerie and surreal vibe the series is known for.

We’re not trying to hurt you. We’re giving you a chance,” an ominous guard voice says in the trailer, implying that the deadly dynamics of competition are very much in place, and new players will once again risk it all for the massive cash prize.

Along with Lee Jung-Jae reprising his role as the troubled Seong Gi-hun, ‘Squid Game‘ Season 2 brings back familiar faces such as Lee Byung-hun as Front Man, the mysterious leader of the game, Wi Ha-jun as detective Hwang Jun-ho, and Gong Yoo as the Recruiter who first enticed Gi-hun into the game.

Joining them is a star-studded ensemble of new contestants, including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun among others, who are all going to be thrown into the deadly trials.
