Kathryn Hahn Believes ‘Agatha All Along’ Served As The Perfect Farewell For Her Character

After ‘Agatha All Along’ conclusion, Kathryn Hahn has shared intriguing comments about her possible Marvel Cinematic Universe return. Agatha Harkness, the breakout character of ‘WandaVision’, took center stage in her spinoff series.

However, the Disney+ show ended bittersweetly as Agatha, now a ghost, teamed up with Billy Maximoff to find the Scarlet Witch’s other son. With the finale offering an emotional conclusion, Hahn revealed her thoughts on Agatha’s future. She might have already said goodbye to the role.

While she expressed hope for more opportunities to play the mischievous witch, she also suggested the show’s ending could serve as a farewell. She talked about how their dynamic brought something unexpected to the character’s arc. “Even though obviously now Billy/Wiccan is not her son, there is some sort of hope for her that she’s able to maybe do for him what she couldn’t do for Nicky. I think they do make a great team,” she explained.

However, despite her belief in the characters and their dynamic, she is ready to say goodbye to her character. “In my mind, this was a beautiful and satisfying way to say goodbye to this incredible character I had to play,” she added. For Hahn, Agatha Harkness was more than a role as it reignited her passion for acting in a way she never expected.

She talked about the bittersweet feelings of saying goodbye to Agatha. “I do feel like this is exactly the part I’m supposed to play at this period of my life,” she stated. Moreover, reflecting on the series’ conclusion, Hahn acknowledged how proud she was of the show’s bold creative choices.

Despite her fondness for the role, Kathryn Hahn has been candid about the uncertainty surrounding Agatha’s future. Speaking to Rolling Stone, she shared that she believes Marvel would only bring Agatha back if it were “necessary and juicy.”

She also emphasized how much she enjoys the unique perspective her character brings to the MCU. “I would say, I think I’d only be asked if it was necessary and juicy. So, who knows? The craziest, most perfect, side-door entrance to this world is to be a witch. It feels wicked step-sister-y. And I really like it like that.”

Moreover, Marvel fans remain hopeful this won’t be the last they see of Agatha Harkness. ‘Agatha All Along’ showrunner Jac Schaeffer also teased the possibility of a second season. With the MCU’s penchant for resurrections, Agatha’s ghostly fate might not be her end.

As the MCU builds toward ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ some speculate it could serve as a reentry point for Agatha. Her journey with Billy Maximoff, set to find a reincarnated Tommy, may also position her alongside the Young Avengers. For now, fans can only speculate if Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha will cast her spell on the MCU once more.
