Stephen Amell Is Set To Play Ted Black In ‘Suits’ Sequel
The NBC drama ‘Suits LA‘ is casting ‘Arrow’ fame Stephen Amellto to lead the upcoming sequel of the ‘Suits’ universe, by Aaron Korsh — the mastermind behind the original series. The pilot is set to commence production in late March in Vancouver.
Stephen Amell boasts an expansive career including his iconic portrayal of Oliver Queen in CW’s ‘Arrow’, and his recent starring role in Starz’s acclaimed wrestling drama series ‘Heels’. Audiences are also anticipating his appearance in the upcoming Netflix film ‘Code 8: Part II’, a project that he is also working on as a producer.
The actor also took to X to embrace the news. Sharing a screenshot of the news published by Deadline, he wrote in the caption “I know a thing or two about building a universe.”
The show makers of ‘Suits‘ meanwhile have said that the new series will cast an entirely new set of actors in the main roles, though the old actors might also appear as part of a crossover. As far as we know about the show’s narrative, ‘Suits LA‘ will revolve around Ted Black’s character, a former federal prosecutor from New York.

The narrative also involves a group of other characters testing their loyalties to Ted and each other. The lines between their personal and professional lives would get blurred as the story develops. Ted’s past also comes into play, shedding light on the reasons behind his decision to abandon everything and everyone he once loved.
Ted Black is a charismatic character who prioritizes his needs over others. Fifteen years before the show’s time frame, Ted partnered with his old friend, Stuart Lane, to establish an L.A. law firm specializing in criminal and entertainment law. Ted was a New York prosecutor before he took up this venture according to the show’s story.
‘Suits: LA‘ distinguishes itself as more than a mere reboot or revival. The show has adapted brand extension with franchises such as CSI and NCIS, introducing fresh characters in a new location. The executive producing team includes Korsh, David Bartis, Doug Liman, and Gene Klein, who have worked together on the original series.
