As both artists were nominated in their respective categories while also taking award(s) home, they also made sure to blow the internet away with their dazzling dresses and crowd-favorite reactions.

The VMA night had one of its best nights in recent years, with almost all the big names showing up. Though the likes of Shakira, NSYNC, Ice Spice, and Nicki Minaj showed up, perhaps the most talked about celebrities in attendance were Taylor Swift and her BFF Selena Gomez. The VMAs received their highest ratings in three years, and Rolling Stone credits both artists for this.
Taylor Swift seemed to have the most fun in the audience, as she was seen grooving to and spending the night fangirling over everyone who performed. Swift, known for her enthusiasm in aware shows, was all over the VMAs footage, sitting beside Ice Spice and visibly enjoying her way through.
Gomez, who was seated with her collaborator Rema, was once again going viral for her reactions. A clip showed her enthusiasm after SZA won an award and her immediately getting sad afterward when she learned SZA wasn’t there. Another clip of Selena visibly scrunching up her face at Chris Brown’s mention is also going viral.

What Awards Did Taylor Swift And Selena Gomez Win?
Taylor Swift made history by becoming the first artist to ever win four Video Of The Year awards. She also now has the second most number of VMAs, the first being Beyonce. The award for Best Afrobeats went to Rema and Selena Gomez for their smash hit Calm Down.
They took home the first-ever Best Afrobeats award. Taylor won numerous awards, including Song of the Year, Pop Video, and Best Direction for “Anti-Hero”. In total, she received 9 VMAs out of the 11 she was nominated for.
Swift had the most nominations going into the night and left with being the most-awarded artist of the night. She now holds the second-highest award total in the show’s history thanks to her wins on Tuesday. She also now shares the record for the most victories in a single night.
