Selena Gomez has always been open about her mental health and physical health issues. She suffers from a disease called Lupas which led to her kidney transplant. The singer has been open about it since 2015, but it’s only now that she revealed that he can’t become a mother due to all her medical complications.

The ‘Calm Down‘ singer has always been open about her desire for motherhood and to live that experience. However, her disease is going to deprive her of that. Here’s what the actress said about it as she revealed the heartbreaking truth to the world.

Selena Gomez Shares Her Desire To Become A Mother

During an interview with Vanity Fair, Selena Gomez shared her take on motherhood. “I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my children,” the 32-year-old said. “I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.”

Gomez had to receive a kidney transplant due to the complications of the disease. Moreover, the singer has been vocal about her bipolar disorder symptoms as well, sharing about the same in 2022. Because of the medications for the disease, she would be unable to carry her own children.

Selena is currently in a relationship with Benny Blanco and they both seem happy. The couple constantly share the desire to get married one day and have children of their own.

Selena Is Excited To See What Her Journey Will Look Like

Selena Gomez does not consider her inability to become a mother as her weakness. This is not how she imagined her motherhood to be like. “It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it,” she told VF, noting that she remains hopeful about other avenues for motherhood, including adoption, as her mother is also adopted. “I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone,” she said.  

Selena was always excited to see what her journey as a mother would have looked like. But destiny had some other plans. “At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby,” said Gomez, who calls her family the most important thing.
