10) Kendall Jenner And The Fyre Festival Debacle
One of the biggest debacles of 2017 was the Fyre Festival. In April and May of 2017, thousands of people booked tickets for what was promised to be a luxurious music festival experience turned out to be a complete failure. The people were told that they could have a fantasy land experience with gourmet food, a luxury stay, and a party with the best celebrities. However, people were duped, and they were scammed.
Many celebrities promoted the event on their social media including Kendall Jenner. Due to this, the model faced a huge backlash for promoting a fraudulent event that ripped people thousands of dollars.
Later, Gregory Masser accused Jenner of “intentionally” spreading misinformation. In the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, he argued that she did not inform her followers of the paid promotion, where she was paid $275,000. Kendall agreed to pay $90,000 for her involvement in the Fyre Festival.
9) Kylie Jenner And The Forbes Controversy
In 2019, Kylie Jenner became the youngest billionaire in the world. However, the website that crowned the youngest in the Kardashian-Jenner clan as a self-made billionaire, ripped her from the title. In 2020, it was said that Coty, a multinational beauty company took “51% of Kylie Cosmetics for $600 million” making her net worth $1.2 billion.
what am i even waking up to. i thought this was a reputable site.. all i see are a number of inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions lol. i’ve never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there EVER. period

“even creating tax returns that were likely forged” that’s your proof? so you just THOUGHT they were forged? like actually what am i reading.

But, in 2020, the same website ran an exposé story that proved that Kylie Jenner is not a billionaire. When the fillings with Coty were released, it “lays bare one of the [Kardashian-Jenner] family’s best-kept secrets: Kylie’s business is significantly smaller, and less profitable than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets … to believe.” As per Forbes, the estimated net worth of the cosmetics mogul is under $900 million.
Kylie retorted on Twitter tweets aimed at Forbes. She wrote, “What am I even waking up to. I thought this [Forbes] was a reputable site.. all I see are several inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions lol. I’ve never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there EVER. period.”
8) Kylie Jenner And The Wheelchair Controversy
In 2015, the youngest from the Kardashian-Jenner clan posed for a shoot for ‘Interview’. During the photo shoot, Kylie, then 18 years old, was seen in a wheelchair. She was wearing a leather sadomasochism-inspired outfit. Many handicapped people found the shoot offensive.
The magazine stated that “At Interview, we are proud of our tradition of working with great artists and empowering them to realize their distinct and often bold visions.”
The statement continued, “The Kylie Jenner cover by Steven Klein, which references the British artist Allen Jones, is a part of this tradition, placing Kylie in a variety of positions of power and control and exploring her image as an object of vast media scrutiny.”
7) Khloé Kardashian Photoshop Scandal
When it comes to controversies, the most defensive among the Kardashian-Jenner is Khloé Kardashian. The Good American founder has been denying any photoshop accusations. In October 2022, she allegedly posted her picture during Paris Fashion Week. In the picture, the fans speculated that she photoshopped her back, shoulder, and arm to come across as slender.
However, the reality TV star denied that she posted the picture. She said, “I never even posted this photo. Maybe my glam did but I didn’t. Also, I mean…. The bent lines in the back lol please.”

In another tweet, she wrote, “Wait not sayin my glam did that either in just saying I didn’t post this photo on my page. Where’s the receipts that I did lol people are so weird.”
6) Kim Kardashian Fulani Braids Controversy
The most controversial member of the Kar-Jen clan is undoubtedly Kim Kardashian. There were two instances where she received flak for wearing braids. One was during the MTV Movie and TV Awards when she wore Fulani braids after her eldest daughter North West insisted she wears them. After the event, she was called out for “cultural appropriation”. The Fulani braids originated in West Africa and were worn by the Fulani tribe. The other time was when she posted a picture of herself rocking those braids. She captioned, “Bo West” referring to Bo Derek.
After the backlash over these two instances, she said, “I remember the backlash when I had the blonde hair and that I called them ‘Bo Derek braids’. But I obviously know they’re called Fulani braids and I know the origin of where they came from and I’m totally respectful of that. I’m not tone deaf to where I don’t get it. I do get it.”
5) Khloé Kardashian DUI Controversy
If you have been an ardent follower of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters then you may know that Khloé Kardashian went to prison. Her departure was documented during one of the episodes of the E! series ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’. In 2007, she was arrested for drinking and driving for which had to serve a probation period. However, due to her failure to serve the period, she was arrested and imprisoned for 30 days, and an alcohol treatment program.
4) Kylie Jenner And Kendall Jenner T-Shirts Controversy
In 2017, the Jenner sisters started a t-shirt line that featured T-shirts with pictures of music legends like Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., Metallica, and others. The t-shirts had “kk” printed on the shirts. They were selling the products for a whopping amount of $125 per piece.
However, it did not sit well with ardent music fans, lawyers, and relatives of the artists. B.I.G., one of the biggest names in the rap scene also had his image on the shirt. His mother took to social media and wrote, “I have no idea why they feel they can exploit the deaths of 2pac and my Son Christopher to sell a t-shirt. This is disrespectful, disgusting, and exploitation at its worst!!!” The eldest Jenner took to Twitter to apologize for offending people over the t-shirts.

3) Tristan Thompson Paternity Scandal
It has not just been the Kardashian-Jenner sisters who have been a part of any scandals. Their respective boyfriends, too, have been embroiled in various controversies. The most shocking one was that of Tristan Thompson, Khloé Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend.
In December 2021, Maralee Nichols, the trainer of the former Cleveland Cavaliers filed a paternity lawsuit claiming that Thompson is the father of the child.
While this claim was raised, Tristan was still involved with Khloé Kardashian parenting their daughter True, and Khloé opted for surrogacy two days before the news broke out. The baby was born in Texas when Tristan came to celebrate his 30th birthday with his family. After the claim was contested in court and the DNA reports confirmed the claim, Tristan wrote, “Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years.”
2) Kendall Jenner Pepsi Commercial
In 2017, the 818 Tequila owner was featured in an ad campaign for Coke’s rival, Pepsi. In the advertisement, Kendall Jenner walks out of the photoshoot to join the marching protestors on the streets. She grabs a chilled can of Pepsi and hands it over to one of the officers.
He takes a sip and a wave of glee crashes through the crowd. The ad garnered a lot of criticism on social media. The advertisement is a misappropriation of the protest culture, especially when police brutality was at its peak during the Black Lives Matter movement.
Kendall, in one of the episodes of ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’, addressed the backlash. She said, “The fact that I would offend other people, or hurt other people is definitely not the intent. I trusted everyone. I trusted the teams. But after I saw the reaction and I read what people had to say about it, I most definitely saw what went wrong.”
1) Kim Kardashian And Ray J’s Sex-Tape Scandal
The biggest scandal for the Kar-Jen family has to be the sex tape scandal of Kim Kardashian and Ray J. This sex tape changed the fate of the SKNN founder and in turn, the popular culture of the United States Of America. In 2007, Kim was not the iconic “Kim Kardashian”. She was a closet organizer and a celebrity stylist. Kim worked and was close to the hotel mogul Paris Hilton.
The Kardashian was, in 2007, the stylist for the singer Brandy Norwood, the sibling of Ray J Norwood. Both Kim and Ray J were madly in love with each other. But, they were unaware of how their life would change. On a fateful day in October, Ray J and Kim K went to Cabo to celebrate her 23rd birthday.
During their stay, they were playing with a camcorder and vlogged their trip along with the infamous sex video. In March 2007, Vivid Entertainment released the tape. Initially, Kim sued the company, but later they settled the suit.
