Travis Scott Astroworld Concert Aftermath: How Much Money Could The Rapper Lose in 2022?

Travis Scott, an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer, has a large fan base on Instagram, with 45.5 million followers. He has received eight Grammy nominations and has won a Billboard Music Award and a Latin Grammy Award. He was gradually becoming one of corporate America’s most prominent collaborators before the Astroworld Music Festival catastrophe happened on November 5, 2021.

Now, Travis stands to lose a lot of money. Hefty lawsuits have piled up against the rapper and Astroworld organizers over the deaths and injuries that happened at the concert.

Travis Scott Stands To Lose Large Sums Of Money

Some of the world’s top businesses were handing Travis Scott large sums of money to help sell and brand their products. He had created sponsorships with brands such as Nike, Dior, Epic Games, Playstation, and many more. The tragic deaths and injuries during his show have compelled many of his sponsors to reconsider their continued relationship with the rapper. Travis may lose large portions of his earnings in 2022.

Nike postponed the sale of Scott’s Nike Air Max 1 collab immediately following the horrific incident, but the sneaker did end up on reseller apps. They have not announced any new collaborations with Travis for 2022. According to Sneaker Freaker, without the Nike partnership, the Houston rapper may lose roughly $10 million.

Anheuser-Busch stated in December that they were discontinuing Travis Scott’s CACTI Agave Spiked Seltzer. The seltzer made its debut in March and was an instant success, selling out in the first week. But the corporation has opted to take a different path moving ahead. While we don’t know how much they paid Scott, we do know it was a substantial sum.

Travis and McDonald’s may also be splitting up in 2022. In 2020, the fast-food chain’s  “Travis Scott Meal” was an instant success. It netted Scott about $20 million, and even though the collab ceased that same year, many fans hoped to see it return. This partnership may be lost forever as a result of the Astroworld catastrophe.

    Scott’s Latest Partnerships

Dior is the latest fashion house to sever relations with the “Sicko Mode” rapper. The business issued a statement claiming that they have chosen to postpone the release of goods from the Cactus Jack partnership. It was initially planned to be included in its summer 2022 collection.

But it’s not just the loss of sponsorship money that might put Travis behind schedule in 2022. He also has to deal with the numerous lawsuits that have poured in since the Astroworld disaster. Travis and We Live Nation has a slew of multimillion-dollar lawsuits against them.

Travis claimed innocence during an interview with The Breakfast Club’s Charlamagne Tha God, stating that he had no knowledge crowd-goers were being trampled during his performance. “Anytime I saw a distressed fan in need that he made sure to call out to stage security for help,” said Scott. “Anytime I could see anything like that, I did,” Scott said. “I stopped it a couple of times to just make sure everybody was OK.”

There is no way of knowing how much money Travis will lose in 2022 as a result of the Astroworld disaster, but one thing is certain, he will face a difficult climb to recoup his previous earnings.
