Before she graced our screens as the beloved Monica Geller on the sitcom ‘Friends‘, Courteney Cox was just another Bruce Springsteen superfan. She even appeared in Springsteen’s iconic ‘Dancing in the Dark‘ music video in 1984.
The ‘Friends’ alum took a nostalgic trip back to the olden times when she was a fangirl as part of a TikTok trend where parents on the platform are showing off their decade-specific dance moves. The internet is losing it over Cox’s video.

Courteney Cox Shakes Legs To Her Decades-Old Song
Reviving her moves from her decades-old video in the Bruce Springsteen song, Courteney Cox posted a video on TikTok with the caption, “1980’s dancing…in the dark.” The actress begins in the video by awkwardly dancing to the 1984 synth-pop hit ‘Smalltown Boy‘ by Bronski Beat, a song commonly paired with the social media trend.
Mid-dance, she takes off her hoodie to reveal the same Springsteen t-shirt she wore in the original ‘Dancing in the Dark‘ video. As she starts moving with the same dance steps as the video, the clip seamlessly transitions into a recreation of her famous dance moves.

Cox was 20 years old when director Brian De Palma selected her from a casting call for the video. Filmed during the opening night of Springsteen’s Born in the USA Tour in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the video shows Springsteen pulling Cox from the crowd to dance onstage with him.

Courteney Cox Reveals She Did Not Want To Be Picked For The Bruce Springsteen Video
Courteney Cox has admitted that the Springsteen video has “got me in the door to so many places.” However, she confessed in a 2017 off camera interview that she “didn’t want to be the one” chosen to go onstage.
The ‘Scream‘ star explained that she initially filmed another sequence with her character’s friends getting ready before the concert, which ultimately didn’t make the final cut. The actresses were informed that one of them would be picked to go onstage, but not which one.
“I don’t want to be the one to have to go,” Cox said at the time. “I didn’t want to dance in front of 30,000 people. It was a full concert, and we did the song twice, back to back.”
Whether or not she liked it, Cox has definitely gotten her fans drooling with her creative and nostalgic TikTok video.
