The night also featured her final performance during the third hour of the finale, where she performed a stunning duet of her single ‘What Makes a Woman‘. Accompanying her for the performance was the third-place finalist Jack Blocker. It took no time for the singer to burst into tears as she continued to perform.
The pop sensation was dressed elegantly for the performance. Elevated above the stage, Perry’s dress unfurled to reveal portrait photos of every ‘American Idol’ contestant hopeful from the season. The performance came as a heartfelt tribute to the show’s participants from the judge and received roaring cheers from the crowd.

The Top 12 lady contestants of the singing competition also performed a medley of Katy Perry’s biggest hits as part of their tribute to her as the last episode of ‘American Idol‘ unfurled on Sunday. The performances featured Perry’s songs like ‘Teenage Dream’, ‘Dark Horse’, and ‘California Gurls’ among others. Perry was visibly overwhelmed as she stood up on the judges’ table, and cheered for them.

Why Did Katy Perry Leave The ‘American Idol’ Judges’ Panel?
Ahead of the show, Katy Perry took to Instagram to share a sneak peek of her finale outfit. Perry has been an innate part of the judges’ panel of ‘American Idol‘ with fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, and host Ryan Seacrest.
Speaking about it with Entertainment Tonight, Katy Perry clarified that she had been preparing for the emotional finale. She also spoke about the reason behind her decision to leave the show. “I’m just trying to make space for other things. It’s not like me ending this show means I’m going to go retire on an island, even though that would be fabulous. I’m gonna go to work,” she said.
The pop sensation also hinted at new projects, including potentially new music. The details of her next project are currently under wraps. Meanwhile, she is also busy being a mother as she and her longtime partner, Orlando Bloom, are raising their 3-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.
The show has yet to announce her replacement, though names like Idol alum Fantasia Barrino and singer Meghan Trainor have been suggested.
