‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ had an amazing run in just the opening weekend. The movie has crossed multiple records grossing a worldwide total of $590.5 million. With brilliant performances and multiple cameos, the Ryan Reynolds starrer is a treat to watch.
Among the many cameos in the film, Wesley Snipes also made a comeback as Blade. And in doing so, he has broken one of Hugh Jackman’s long standing records. The Guinness Book Of World Records reports on the new record set by Snipes.
Wesley Snipes Sets New Record With His Comeback In ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’
The unexpected cameo of Wesley Snipes as Blade in ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ has led to him breaking two records. The 62-year-old actor returned in his role as Blade, a half-vampire daywalker who hunts vampires, after 25 years and 340 days precisely.
According to The Guiness Book Of World Records this breaks Hugh Jackman’s record of longest career as a live action Marvel character. Jackman had made a comeback as Wolverine after 24 years in the Shawn Levy directed movie.
Snipes’ return also broke another record, as it earned him a record for the longest gap between character appearances in Marvel films. Snipes played Blade 19 years and 231 days ago in ‘Blade: Trinity’. This breaks Alfred Molina’s 17-year gap between playing Doctor Octopus in ‘Spider-Man 2’ and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

Wesley Snipes Reveals How His Comeback Was Possible
All credits for Wesley Snipes’ return in ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ goes to Ryan Reynolds, as revealed by the ‘Blade’ star in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Over the years, we’ve had very interesting conversations, some of them very substantive and some of them not,” he said.
“So I kind of resided that I was moving on from them, which is okay. I did three of them, and I thought they turned out pretty good,” Snipes continued. “Not so bad… So we move on to other things, and bigger and better things, as well.” However, Snipes revealed that one phone call from Reynolds was all it took.
Snipes recalled, “I thought it didn’t make sense to me, but [when] you get a call from Ryan Reynolds out of the blue after 20 years, you go, ‘Okay, I got to take this call. Let’s see what this is about.'” Snipes added, “He told me the idea… They said ‘yes’ and ‘it’s a go.’ ‘If you’re in, we’re in.’ Here we are.”
