“I have to slip out after this to go get a scan done for the show, and then also for the movie I’m doing after the show. Two scans in one day!” Nicolas Cage said in an interview with The New Yorker.

“Well, they have to put me in a computer and match my eye color and change—I don’t know. They’re just going to steal my body and do whatever they want with it via digital A.I. . . . God, I hope not A.I. I’m terrified of that. I’ve been very vocal about it,” he added.

The actor continued, “And it makes me wonder, you know, where will the truth of the artists end up? Is it going to be replaced? Is it going to be transmogrified? Where’s the heartbeat going to be? I mean, what are you going to do with my body and my face when I’m dead? I don’t want you to do anything with it!”

This is not the first time Nicolas Cage has opened up about the dangers he thinks AI poses to Hiollywood and the art form that acting is. In a previous interview with Yahoo Movies, the actor had shared his experience of working on ‘The Flash’ and how he didn’t exactly love working with AI.

Cage said, “First and foremost, I was on set. They did put a lot of time into building the suit … and I think Andy Muschietti is a terrific director, he is a great guy and a great director, and I lived his two It movies. … What I was supposed to do was literally just be standing in an alternate dimension, if you will, and witnessing the destruction of the universe.”

In the film ‘The Flash’, Cage plays Superman, and has a scene where he battles a giant creature with red lasers shooting from his eyes. However, Cage stated that this was not how he actually shot the scene; he admitted that after seeing the final product, he realized he never shot it and that it was all computer-generated imagery.

Cage described how AI had devolved into a nightmare, saying, “You can’t get more inhumane than artificial intelligence … I would be very unhappy if people were taking my art … and appropriating it.”
