What Is DROAM City? Everything To Know About Kanye West’s City Plan In Middle East

Kanye West has been making headlines in 2023 again, for both good and bad reasons! The year 2022 was turbulent for the rapper due to his erratic behavior, which made him lose business and credibility. He went on a rampage with his anti-Semitic rants, due to which the ‘Donda’ rapper was ousted from the industry. Since then, he has been making headlines due to his marriage and, most recently, due to his new music.

Kanye West and TY Dolla $ign have been working on a new album titled ‘Vultures’. The rapper duo performed the first song of the same moniker in Dubai. Kanye went to Riyadh for a boxing match, but he fell in love with the Middle East. He was spotted at many places with his wife, Bianca Censori, and in the North West. There were rumors that the couple was planning to move to Dubai. Now, West is planning to construct an entire city in the Middle East called ‘DROAM’ city.

It seems like Kanye West has fallen in love so much with the Middle East that the rapper is planning to build a 10,000-acre self-sustaining city called ‘DROAM’. The city will be bigger than the whole of New York City.

DROAM’s location has not been unveiled, but the rapper will kick off Phase I of the project soon. He is recruiting builders, contractors, project managers, engineers, and architects.

In 2019, Kanye West undertook a similar project called ‘Yecosystems’ by buying a $3 million ranch in Calabasas.

With the project, he wanted to solve the problem of homelessness in Los Angeles by building structures as big as 50 feet. He wanted to create all the amenities for the housing project. Ye had all the trademarks for designs, residential structures, and future stores registered.

Kanye West bought another property in Malibu for $57 million. The property belonged to the Wall Street tycoon Richard Sachs. It was designed by the acclaimed architect Tadao Ando, who also built Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s Malibu house.

Ye started work on that property, but he halted the work, leaving it to rot. The project manager on the property filed a lawsuit against him for delaying the remuneration and violating labor laws.

Kanye West finally listed the property with the help of ‘Selling Sunset’ star realtor Jason Oppenheim. The Pacific Ocean-facing property is a three-story property with four bedrooms and 1,500 sq ft. of deck space. The realtor said, “It was a very minimalist interior previously and will likely continue to be that in order to allow the architecture to speak louder than the finishes.”
