An Irish actor, Cillian Murphy is most known for his acting in the drama series ‘Peaky Blinders‘. He’s been married to Yvonne McGuinness since 2004. Despite being a high-profile celebrity, Murphy has managed to keep his personal life pretty quiet and low-key. Originally from Ireland, the couple currently lives in Dublin, away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood life.
In an interview for People, Murphy told the magazine, “I don’t need to live in Los Angeles. I’d be tremendously far away from my family. I’d never see them.” They left London in 2015 and currently live with their two children, Malachy and Aran.

Yvonne is the daughter of a very successful businessman Guy McGuinness. She met Cillian in 1996, while he was auditioning for his first acting gig in the play ‘Disco Pigs’. Not only did Cillian get the part, but also met the love of his life.
Other than being a visual artist, Yvonne also describes herself as a sewer, spinner, video-taker, and creative homemaker. She is a mother of two sons and prefers to keep her life away from the social media buzz, and, quite ingeniously, she has succeeded in doing so despite being married to a celebrity. When Cillian went on a tour in the 90s, McGuinness went along with him. That tour has been described as an “important period” in Murphy’s life by the actor himself. McGuinness and her husband spent a lot of years living in London, and finally moving back to their hometown Ireland, where they currently reside.

How Did Murphy And McGuinness Meet?
Cillian and Yvonne met for the first time in 1996, and it became a life-defining year for both of them. When the ‘Dunkirk‘ actor met Yvonne, he wasn’t in a very well-to-do position as he had just started his acting career. At the time, he was the lead singer of a band named Sons of Mr. Green Genes, which was a funk-jam band. However, he had just declined a record contract from the band to audition for the play ‘Disco Pigs‘ to give acting a serious shot. This was the time when he met his future wife for the first time.
The couple finally got married on August 1, 2004, in Provence. Their wedding took place in a vineyard owned by McGuinness’ father, in Southeastern France. Having a busy work-life schedule, Cillian spoke about his understanding with his wife, “That work-life balance thing is hard. I have an amazing wife and I couldn’t do this without her and her understanding”.
