    The movie is an erotic thriller where a 50s couple begins living in a utopian experimental community that has sinister plans.     Jordan Peterson is a psychologist, a scholar of personality, and an author who has written the number one best-selling notification book on Amazon in the US. However, as impressive as his credentials might be, his mindset and opinions are as rigid and conservative as they can get making him a certified right-wing celebrity who has become a big thing on the internet. He has claimed that feminists have “an unconscious wish for brutal male domination” and have also referred to developing nations as “pits of catastrophe”. 

    He is a warrior of culture wars and has become an inspiration for many, mostly for memes. However, while he is a source of entertainment and a subject of mockery, his controversial thoughts, opinions, and views are being accepted and echoed by many across the globe. 

    There is no denying that he is a very talented public speaker which has largely contributed to his rise to fame. His tactics and exaggerated outburst along with twisted arguments make for great content to be utilized by right-wing media and its consumers. His beliefs are conservative, to say the least, yet he seems to have an immense and almost unexplainable grip over those to regularly follow him.     How Did Jordan Peterson Become An Inspiration Behind Olivia Wilde’s Movie Villain?

    From what can be seen in the trailers, Chris Pine plays the role of a cult leader named Frank who is charismatic and hypnotic. Olivia confessed in her latest interview with Maggie Gyllenhaal that her inspiration for Frank’s character for none other than Jordan Peterson who she described as an “incel”. Upon being asked by Maggie what the word incel means Olivia explained, “They’re basically disenfranchised, mostly white men, who believe they are entitled to sex from women. And they believe that society has now robbed them—that the idea of feminism is working against nature, and that we must be put back into the correct place.”

    Moving on towards explaining how Jordon inspired Chris Pine’s role in the movie, “Jordan Peterson is someone that legitimizes certain aspects of [incels’] movement because he’s a former professor, he’s an author, he wears a suit, so they feel like this is a real philosophy that should be taken seriously.” She further went on about what she personally feels about the character and Jordan Peterson, “Terrifying. We based that character on this insane man, Jordan Peterson, who is this pseudo-intellectual hero to the incel community. They’re basically disenfranchised, mostly white men, who believe they are entitled to sex from women. And they believe that society has now robbed them—that the idea of feminism is working against nature, and that we must be put back into the correct place.”

    The movie is all set to be premiered at the 79th Venice Film Festival on September 5, 2022, and will be released in the United States on September 23, 2022.
