The couple started dating in 2021, or that is what their social media indicated at the time. Though they did make their relationship official on social media, their breakup was never confirmed by either of them. It was just cryptic posts by Khalifa and her unfollowing her now ex-boyfriend that led to the conclusion of their separation as partners.

Who Is Jhay Cortez?
Born as Jesus Manuel Nieves Cortez, Jhay started his journey as a musician at the age of eleven. He started writing his own tunes when it was time for him to focus on his school homework.
Fast forward five years, he was already trying his luck in the massive music industry of Hollywood. It did not take him too long to establish an identity there, By 22, he was more or less a known name among the industry’s top brass.
In 2013, Jhay did his first big assignment with the Latin pop group Stereo 4. The song he did included a mix of voices by Jafet Cortes, Eduardo Esteras, and Ruben China, other than himself. His journey to stardom kicked off there and by 2016, he took centre stage as a solo performer.

It was in the summer of 2021 when the industry started whispering about the duo’s affair. The first such speculation was made after the couple was rumored to have been together at a Puerto Rican crooner.
To add more to the fire, a video of the two stars cuddling and serenading each other went viral on social media. The fans’ and netizens’ curiosity reached its peak, and like wildfire, the still unconfirmed news of the couple’s affair spread across the world.
The relationship was confirmed after Khalifa marked her presence at one of Cortez’s events in Puerto Rico. The cameo was also coupled with a dance performance that they pulled off together and killed at the end of it. It was perhaps a happy day for all the fans who were already shipping their rumored relationship.
A few days after that, Mia Khalifa and Jhay Cortez made their relationship official on Instagram on November 5, 2021. They posted photos on both of their accounts and were showered with validation from their celebrity folks and fans alike.
However, as all good things come to an end, the couple seemingly parted ways in August 2023. Though none of them confirmed or commented on the end of their relationship in any way whatsoever, fans concluded it from their social media accounts.
