Jessica Alexander Plays Vanessa In ‘The Little Mermaid’
Vanessa is the magical illusion created by Ursula to charm Prince Eric and trick him to marry her. The actor who plays Vanessa is relatively a newcomer to the industry. It is the model and actor Jessica Alexander.
Alexander is an English actor whom you might have seen in ‘Glasshouse‘ and ‘A Banquet’. She started her career with 2016’s short film ‘Truck‘. She played Lucy Carpenter on ‘Penny on M.A.R.S‘ in 2018. You might also recognize her from ‘Into The Deep‘ as Lexie.
A fun fact about Jessica Alexander is that she enjoys playing villainous roles in movies. On the red carpet of ‘The Little Mermaid‘ premiere, she said that she enjoys playing villains because they are quite fun to portray. Jessica also added that she brought a little bit of herself to the role. “But yeah, I quite often play demonic and unhinged women, and that’s nice when there is a place for that at Disney,” continued Alexander.

What Is ‘The Little Mermaid’ About?
The 2023 ‘The Little Mermaid’ film is a live-action depiction of the age-old Disney tale. Directed by Rob Marshall, the movie is going to be released soon.
The movie follows Ariel, a beautiful and adventurous young mermaid who is very curious about life outside the sea. She is King Triton’s youngest daughter. After Ariel saves a human’s life, she falls in love with the young man who is Prince Eric. In pursuit of a life on land as a human, Ariel strikes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula. However, this has worse consequences than what Ariel had hoped for. Now, she must save the sea and Prince Eric from Ursula.
