    Born on November 1, 1939, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, Barbara Bosson’s father was a tennis coach. In 1968, her first feature credit, the Steve McQueen crime thriller ‘Bullitt‘ was released.

    She is mostly known for her role as Fay Furillo in the 1980s NBC television series called ‘Hill Street Blues.’ Bosson was a part of the series for the first six seasons. Between 1995 to 1997, Bosson played the role of prosecutor Miriam Grasso on ‘Murder One.’

    The role was well received and it even earned her an Emmy Award nomination. Between 1970 to 1997, she was married to television writer and producer Steven Bochco with whom she had two children.

    On Saturday, February 18, 2023, Bosson passed away in Los Angeles. She was 83 years old and her death was confirmed by her son, Jesse Bochco. “More spirit and zest than you could shake a stick at“, he wrote on Instagram.

    He further wrote: “When she loved you, you felt it without a doubt. If she didn’t, you may well have also known that too. Forever in our hearts. I love you Mama.”

    Bosson’s husband Bocho died in 2018. She is survived by her son Jesse, daughter, granddaughter, and grandson. Some of her important acting credits include ‘The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, ‘L.A. Law‘ and ‘A Session With the Committee.’
