“A martini. Shaken not stirred,” goes the famous James Bond vodka martini recipe. All the Bond actors have had this dialogue through the years. In 2020, Daniel Craig had the dialogue in his film ‘No Time To Die’, which would be his final Bond movie. The British actor has been part of five Bond movies over the past years.
Daniel Craig had already admitted his uneasiness being James Bond in the 007 franchise again. “I didn’t feel like I could do it anymore,” he had said even before the shoot of his final Bond film. The actor had to suffer many injuries during the shooting of these action-packed movies. As the actor reached his limit, he wanted James Bond to just die!

“I Don’t Want To Go Back”: Daniel Craig Admits
There are two reasons the 54-year-old actor doesn’t want to return to the 007 movie franchise. In an interview with Los Angeles Times, he explains his two reasons. “Two things, one for myself and one for the franchise,” he said. “I was like, ‘Well, you need to reset again.’ So let’s kill my character off and go find another Bond and go find another story. Start at [age] 23, start at 25, start at 30,” the actor was concerned about giving his character a fresh start.
The second reason that Craig pointed out was for his own benefit. “The other was so that I could move on,” he admitted. “I don’t want to go back. I suppose I should be so lucky if they were to ask me back, but the fact is I need to move on from it. The sacrifice that he makes in the movie was for love, and there’s no greater sacrifice. So it seemed like a good thing to end on,” he added. Surely, the actor needed a break. He had been injured several times during the movies ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Quantum Of Solace’.

Craig Had A Severe Knee Injury
The 2015 James Bond movie ‘Spectre’ had been the movie that Daniel Craig decided to leave the 007 franchise. This was because he had been injured while filming. “I finished that movie with a broken leg,” Craig had told in an interview back in 2020. The British actor had to undergo arthroscopic surgery after injuring his knee during a fight scene with his co-star Dave Bautista.“I had to question myself: Was I physically capable of doing [another one] or did I want to do another one? Because that phone call to your wife saying ‘I’ve broken my leg’ is not pleasant,” Craig said.
Though Craig was ready to leave the franchise, it was the producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michel G. Wilson who bought him back onscreen in the classic black tux. “He felt at the end of the last movie he’d kind of done it,” Broccoli had said earlier. “I said to him, ‘I don’t think you have, I think there’s still more of the story of your Bond to tell.’ Fortunately, he came around to agree with that.” Even though Craig will not be back as Bond again, still we can see him as a detective in the upcoming movie, ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’.
