Dwayne Johnson And Dany Garcia’s Relationship Explained
Dany Garcia and Dwayne Johnson met at the University of Miami where the two were studying. Johnson was there on a football scholarship while Garcia was studying business. The two started dating afterward and got married in 1997.
By that time, Johnson had become one of the most popular WWE wrestlers. After their marriage, she became his manager and their daughter Simone was born in the year 2001. However, things did not go as planned, and they filed for divorce in 2007 which was finalized in 2008.
In a 2020 interview with Oprah Winfrey, The Rock revealed the nature of their divorce. “It was just one of those things where it wasn’t an ugly divorce. It was just… marriage wasn’t in our cards,” he said.
He further said, “Great friends. Marriage wasn’t in our cards, but we both had an appetite for business and to accomplish things. And we thought, well, what if we continued to do business together?”

Garcia is a former professional bodybuilder and a successful entrepreneur. Despite their divorce, she continued to be Johnson’s manager and has also managed Henry Cavill. Both Johnson and Garcia started Seven Bucks Productions right after their divorce.
The company has since expanded into film and television production as well as advertising. Apart from that, she is also the co-owner of the XFL football league. Garcia also serves as the Global Strategist Advisor for all of Johnson’s business ventures.
She also handles The Garcia Companies and TGC Management as well as Under Armour’s Project Rock collection, ZOA Energy, Teremana Tequila (co-owned by Johnson), and Atom Tickets.
