Recently, Elon Musk took over Twitter and it has not been great so far! It has been more than a week since the Tesla owner finally sealed the $44 million Twitter deal and things have spiralled. The new CEO has fired half of the employees at Twitter in a “mass layoff” move.
Since Musk’s take over, the suspension of accounts has tripled. As per reports, around 1.3 million accounts have been either “suspended or deactivated”. With a promise of “free speech”, Elon is limiting comedians contrarily as he has suspended the account of the comedienne Kathy Griffin. Why did he do so?

Kathy Griffin ‘Impersonated’ Elon Musk Which Led To Suspension Of Her Account
With a new CEO, Twitter is revamping its policy. And the first casualty of this revamp is the comedienne veteran Kathy Griffin’s account. On Sunday, Twitter suspended her account due to the ‘impersonation’ of its CEO! Yes, Kathy changed her profile name to Elon Musk. Though she had her username as @kathygriffin, the name alongside the blue tick was that of him.
On Sunday, Musk tweeted that an account that is impersonating without the warning of parody will be suspended. He wrote, “Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended.” Recently, the blue tick stirred controversy as people possessing one had to pay $8.
He continued, “Previously, we issued a warning before suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning. This will be clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue.”
