    In 1998, Jennifer Lopez gave an interview with Movieline, where she talked about actress Winona Ryder who was her senior and a much-established name in the entertainment industry.

    In the interview, she passed comments on Ryder, Madonna, Cameron Diaz, and Salma Hayek. Lopez said that she and Hayek are in “different realms” and said that Diaz is a “lucky model who’s been given a lot of opportunities.”

    But things went from bad to worse when she started talking about Ryder. The ‘Anaconda‘ actress said that she was “never a big fan of hers.”

    Discussing Ryder’s career, Lopez said: “In Hollywood she’s revered, she gets nominated for Oscars, but I’ve never heard anyone in the public or among my friends say, ‘Oh, I love her’.”

    She’s cute and talented, though and I’d like her just for looking like my older sister, Leslie,” Lopez added. However, the singer received backlash from Ryder’s fans and realized her mistake.

    In a later interview, she gave a clarification stating that she was “misquoted and so taken out of context.” Lopez slammed the journalist who covered her story. “I don’t like to hurt anybody. I don’t like to hurt their feelings. I like to joke, so I do that sometimes. What they wrote in that article hurt people,” she said.
