‘Tis the season of chiming bells, egg nogs, and illuminating houses! Hollywood is already bracing itself to make Christmas merrier. It already started on a good note with the revival of ‘The Santa Clause’ franchise featuring Tim Allen. But, with the festive season inching closer, the Christmas queen Candace Cameron Bure will be seen in ‘A Christmas…Present’ on Great American Family. The actress is already under fire as JoJo Siwa has called her out.
The ‘Fuller House’ actress will not only be seen in the capacity of an actress, but Candace will be also heading one of the executive positions. Great American Family is a new venture that Great American Media has launched. As per the website, the cable network will release content “that celebrates faith, family, and country.” A statement that Bure made during an event about the network’s content did not sit well with Siwa.

“This Is Rude And Hurtful”: JoJo Siwa Slams Candace Cameron Bure On Her New Venture
While venturing into a new phase in her career Candace sat down with The Wall Street Journal to discuss it. While the network aims to provide diverse content to faith-based audiences. A spokeswoman at the network talked about the diverse perspectives that they want to present. She said, “We want all viewers to see themselves in our programming and everyone is welcome”.
But, the actress and the programming and development head did not share the same view. Along with focusing on the “faith element”, Candace also told what will be the demographics that they will be representing. When the interviewer asked if there will be same-sex couples represented in the content. To this, the actress said, “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core”.
This did not sit well with the ‘Dance Moms’ alum. JoJo came out in 2021 as ‘queer’. Though she has not labeled her sexuality, the reality TV star, once in an interview, said, “I like queer. Technically I would say that I am pansexual because that’s how I have always been my whole life is just like, my human is my human.”
JoJo took to her Instagram to share her discontent about Candace’s comments.

She shared a screenshot of an article from EDGE titled ‘Candace Cameron Bure’s Plans For New Cable Channel: No Gays”. Jojo wrote,“honestly, I can’t believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with intention of excluding LGBTQIA+ but then also talk about it in the press. This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people.”

This Is Not The First Time The YouTuber Was Upset With Candace
JoJo Siwa has expressed her discontent toward the actress more than once! In July 2022, JoJo said that she finds Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she has ever met in a TikTok video. The actress narrated the instance where the ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ judge came for a picture at the premiere of ‘Fuller House’. But, Candace declined to click pictures “right now”, but she continued and clicked pictures with others.
Nevertheless, the two women reconciled via a phone call. She admitted that she apologized to Siwa and that everything was “good on the JoJo front.” In July, JoJo cleared the air about the episode. She said, “I think it just was an inconvenient time for her, and little 11-year-old me was just so pumped up and so excited, but that doesn’t mean she’s the worst human ever. It just, you know, was a rough experience for me.”
