Why Does Halsey Regret Writing The Song?
In the parody, she criticized Swift in a line that goes like this, “[W]e knew she was trouble when she snagged Styles/How could we allow Taylor to get him with her fake smiles?” When she wrote the song, she was not the household name she is now and she was only 16. She was young and wrote a lot of parody songs and made videos. Halsey also called herself an ***hole for writing parody songs. She also specified that she regretted writing “The Haylor Song” and the song was not the reason for her career’s advancement.
Halsey has also tweeted on many occasions that she adores Taylor Swift. She tweeted, “Taylor Swift is a huge reason why I always insisted to write my own music.” Her reason for writing her own music was that Swift kindled emotions in people’s hearts through her lyrics. She also noted that she is a huge fan of One Direction, the boy band Harry Styles was a part of. She also had a cushion with Harry’s face on it. Halsey might have mocked her beloved artists at her young age, but she knows and we know that without them she would not have written her own music. Bitter-sweet inspirations!
