Katy Perry is undoubtedly one of the most popular stars we have in today’s music industry. She is also known for her television appearances and has sold more than 100 million records in her successful music career.
Perry has also been a subject of criticism for some reasons. The contestant Sara Beth Liebe left ‘American Idol’ with her three kids following Perry’s mom-shaming comments towards her. This also led to an unexpected reaction toward Perry during her appearance on the show.

Katy Perry Booed On ‘American Idol’
Katy Perry’s appearance on ‘American Idol’ on Monday was not well-received by the audiences. One of the contestants, Nutsa Buzaladze was performing the song ‘Paris’ while Perry put up a few negative points about the performance. She was subsequently booed.
While the other three mentors gave positive comments for the performance, Perry recommended Nutsa to tone down and added, “Listen, I think one thing I personally would like to see from you is not one piece of glitter the next time. I know that’s gonna be hard.”
While audiences booed, Luke Bryan mentioned the same. Perry, on the other hand, responded to the reaction and said, “OK, first time in six seasons, woo-hoo! But what I’m saying is that, I’d like you to flip the script. I think we want to be pulled in by our hearts too. I’d love to see that, and I think America might too.”

A Contestant Left ‘American Idol’ Following Katy Perry’s Mom-Shaming Comments
Katy Perry was involved in a controversy where a contestant named Sara Beth Liebe left ‘American Idol.’ She is the same contestant who slammed Perry’s mom-shaming comments on TikTok during the audition.
Perry tried to convince Sara to stay in the competition and said that it is easier to walk away than to be rejected. She added, “But then I also know that you lose out on your fullest potential and I know that you love your family for your kids. I know that as a mother. But remember, self-love is just as big as motherly love. Don’t leave the competition.”
Announcing her decision to leave the show, Sara said that she needs to return home to her children and expressed her gratitude to everyone. Although Perry tried to convince Sara, she stated that she is sure that she would not win the show so it is better for her to go home.
