They must be a fool who fires Katheryn Winnick from a job. Especially when the said actress is a licensed bodyguard. But it did happen. The Canadian actress, a well-known face from the ‘Vikings’ television series, was fired from her first acting job. It might sound unnatural due to Katheryn’s early success. But this makes us realize that all of us are humans who make mistakes and fail. And sometimes the mistakes can be embarrassing.
Beautiful Katheryn started practicing martial arts before she even started learning English. By the age of thirteen, she got her first black belt. When she grew up she began teaching actors how to fight on screen. This inspired her to act herself. Katheryn owned a martial arts school at the mere age of sixteen. Entrepreneurial success for a teenager was a skyrocketing boost to her confidence. And eventually, young Katheryn Winnick landed her first acting job.

Katheryn Winnick Was Fired From First Acting Job
Besides taekwondo, acting always fascinated Katheryn Winnick. She taught actors how to fight in front of the camera. Katheryn even after opening her first school was drawn toward acting and kept searching for extra work. One of Winnick’s friends worked in casting background actors. She got Winnick her first acting opportunity and straight away went to Toronto for filming. Katheryn was excited and was sure this is where her skills will be discovered. “So I ended up putting on what I thought was like a mini skirt and high heels, and a push-up bra,” Katheryn told The View the embarrassing anecdote.
The scene was a perfect fit for Winnick. It was an action scene and two cars ram into each other. Winnick was adamant to be noticed. “So, when the director calls ‘Action,’ I started acting, I started telling everybody, ‘Call 911, do this, do that!’ And I had no idea that you’re not supposed to do that.” And before she even knew Katheryn was fired from the job. Katheryn relates that she left the set in tears. However, she resolved that someday she would become a lead actress. And we know that came to be true.

Katheryn Winnick’s Struggle Story
Listening to Katheryn Winnick’s story one might call her a hardworking badass. Despite her spectacular success in her taekwondo school, Winnick wanted to continue her education. She took up the course of kinesiology, the study of human body movement, at York University. Later, she moved to New York City. There she took up theatre courses and sideways she started acting in minor roles. She took various independent movies or student movies.
Moreover, Winnick worked as a restaurant host to pay her bills. Katheryn was thirsty for work experience and was ready to grab whatever she could. She flew in and out of Los Angeles for acting jobs. Today, Katheryn is a well-known name. Besides ‘Vikings’ she has also appeared in ‘Wu Assasins’ and her recent venture ‘Big Sky’. She has also worked in numerous movies like ‘Amusement’ (2008), ‘Choose’ (2010), ‘A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III’ (2012), ‘The Art of the Steal’ (2013), ‘Polar’ (2019), and ‘The Marksman’ (2021).
