Robert Downey Jr. Speaks On His Arrest In A Podcast
During his latest appearance on the ‘Armchair Expert‘ podcast, Robert Downey Jr. recalled his experience at the court, saying that an angry judge over-sentenced him. He stated that the judge also spoke something in Latin which he thought was a kind of spell.
He then mentioned his experience at the North Kern State Prison in Delano, California, calling it a receiving centre where they decide where someone would go. Downey stated that the inmates were not separated based on their crime and he was between those who committed violent crimes.
Robert continued: “You could just feel the evil in the air, and that was no trouble at all because it was kind of like just being in a really bad neighborhood. There was no opportunity there. There were only threats.”

Robert Downey Jr. On Fighting Substance Abuse Issues
Robert Downey Jr. revealed that he was later taken to the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison. He realized his substance problems here and the addiction left him in prison. He said that they are programmed in such a way that they must adjust themselves to almost impossible things.
He further stated: “For me, there’s worse things that could have happened than being sent to an institution, for sure. However, we can only go by what we know, and I would imagine if I had to guess, that was the worst thing that happened to me.”
Robert served for only three years and he posted bail in 2000, following which he was released.
